Our maintenance and custodial teams have been hard at work getting our building ready for the school year. We look forward to projects that will be done here in future years as a result of the bond that voters passed in February 2019. Vista will see safety upgrades, new heat valves and roof repairs. You can subscribe to our weekly bond updates for news and information about all of our bond projects including work that will happen here at Vista:
We encourage you and your students to visit the main office if you need support or have questions. We also want you to know where to go for information on our website if you need it:

Ms. Heather Leighton Vista Middle School Principal
Academics are important at Vista Middle School but what is most important here is relationships. Relationships are our mission. In fact, they are the mission of the entire Ferndale School District. We are proud to say that the District has committed to implementing the Second Step curriculum in each K-8 classroom this year. Second Step, which has been in our district in some places for several years, is a program aimed at creating a more empathetic and safe society by teaching students social and emotional concepts and skills. To read more about Second Step, please see:
I want you to know that EVERY Vista Middle School student has a place in our community. You belong here and we are glad to have you. If our staff can be helpful as you navigate this new school year, please find Assistant Principal Ms. Julia Besola or me in the main office.
